Plan Cincinnati: The Comprehensive Plan

The City of Cincinnati is currently developing its first comprehensive plan in 30 years, Plan Cincinnati.

Plan Cincinnati Vision Statement:

Thriving Re-urbanization

The vision for the future of Cincinnati is focused on an unapologetic drive to create and sustain a thriving urban community where engaged citizens and memorable places are paramount, where creativity and innovation thrive, and where local pride and confidence are contagious.

Plan Cincinnati will include a blueprint for ensuring that Cincinnati is a city of memorable places through the use of placemaking tools like form-based codes and street standards that prioritize people over cars.

The 2011 Neighborhood Summit featured presentations on neighborhood form and character and walkability by Plan Cincinnati consultants Daniel Parolek of Opticos Design and Rick Hall of Hall Planning and Engineering.

Keynote speakers were Mitchell Silver, Planning Director for the City of Raleigh, NC,  which just completed its comprehensive plan, and Gianni Longo, ACP Vision+Planning.

Watch the summit opening, featuring Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls framing the issues related to the comprehensive plan.

Watch the closing panel of experts review the draft strategy.
