Multilingual signs show city's best

Posted on Jan. 8th, 2012 in Committees: Livable Communities Committee

City Council approved a plan this week for multilingual signs downtown. The Enquirer hailed the plan, introduced by Vice Mayor Qualls nearly two years ago, in this editorial. Reminding readers of Cincinnati's history as a city of immigrants, the editorial says the simple gesture of welcome, which will be in place for the upcoming World Choir Games this summer, also provides "solid evidence of our commitment to openness and diversity, our readiness to participate in world culture and commerce" that will "pay dividends for years to come."
